2023. May 17.
At the initiative of BME and with the moral support of the OTDT, the 72-year-old Hungarian scientific student circle, which is an important element of Hungarian higher education goes international.
BME is the main organiser of the first EELISA international student science competition, the international form of the Hungarian scientific students’ association, which has a tradition of more than 70 years. The competition will take place on 17-18 May in a total of nine sessions, divided by areas of science, with a total of seventy-one students from seven EELISA partner institutions.
The hybrid event takes place in Pisa and can be followed online. Presentations will take place from 14:00 to 17:30 and require pre-registration, but those interested can join and listen to the presentations by following the links below for each session. The rules and procedure of the competition follow the framework of the national scientific students’ association conference. The entries submitted by the students will reviewed beforehand by two nominated experts and finally ranked by an international jury member per section.
The event is organised with the aim of creating tradition, and not only promotes cooperation between EELISA partner institutions, but also serves as an indicator for joint research projects, in line with BME's internationalisation strategy.
The first EELISA international student science competition could also be a precursor to the internationalisation of the national scientific students’ association event series.
